Responsibilities:
Assists and trains persons supported in all independent living skills including:
meal preparation, meal clean-up, bed making, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and other cleaning tasks Passes medication, as assigned, per RN medication administration training Maintains and promotes a friendly, comfortable, safe environment where people may progress socially, emotionally, and physically Follows, observes, and reports on Individual Program Plan (IPP) Respects and promotes the rights of individuals Provides direct support and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or nursing staff Assists people when scheduled on doctor's appointments and/or community events Drives in company vehicles to appointments and community destinations, as assigned DSP I
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age Must have current First Aid and CPR Certificate Current Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) certification; preferred, not required High School Diploma or equivalent; required Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals; preferred Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds Must have valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California DSP II
Qualifications:
All of the above Current Direct Support Professional II (DSP II) certification; required Onetime Sign on Bonus will be paid in two payments.
First payment will be made after 90 days of active employment and second payment will be made after 6 months to active employees in good standing.
