Michael Baker International is seeking a Vice President of Operations/Office Executive to lead our Los Angeles/Santa Ana Office.
In this role, the successful candidate will lead a staff of 150
across multiple practices; Civil and Environmental, Survey, Planning, and Water.
The Vice President of Operations/Office Executive provides oversight of day to day operations while developing, guiding, and managing the growth of a balanced portfolio, reflective of the enterprise capabilities of Michael Baker International's Los Angeles and Santa Ana Office; protecting the core business of Michael Baker; providing business leadership to grow the core business, adding new markets, new clients and expanding the capabilities of the office; engaging with other Office Executives, National/Regional Market and Practice Leads/Liaisons and supporting resources; making business decisions and being accountable for the office-level performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading and supervising a multi-disciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will also have established strong relationships with local and state transportation, planning, water, and other infrastructure clients.
The Office Executive will Be accountable for office performance against metrics including:
Revenue and profit (Management of P&L) Business development, new work added, and backlog Recruiting, retention, & staff development Organizational growth across multiple practices Resource management and allocation Overhead budget control and regional profitability Develop and lead strategic direction and growth strategies across clients, markets, and geographies leading to revenue and profit growth Identify, attract, hire, and develop emerging talent and leadership to create upward opportunity and succession planning Establish a positive, engaging atmosphere and a culture of excellence Oversee project execution by project managers Operate as the Principal-in-Charge or Project Manager for critical pursuits Develop and maintain client, stakeholder, and teaming partner relationships Involvement in local professional activities that bring positive attention to the firm PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture or related discipline; Master's Degree in any of these disciplines and/or Management is preferred Project Management and team leadership in Engineering or Planning, including leading business development, financial metrics, client interaction, quality management, and project execution Supervisory experience with demonstrated success leading Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Water Resources, Land Development, Federal Market, Construction Services, Survey/GIT, Transportation, Planning, Public Works or other teams.
PE, AICP or AIA preferred Government experience or the ability to interact successfully with Local (County, municipal), State and Federal Agencies Proficiency with MS Office Suite COMPENSATIONThe salary range for this position is $185,000-$330,000.
This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
