Program Support Assistant

As a Program Support Assistant (Office Automation), you will:
Review proposals for proper and complete documentation and for compliance with HUD and program specific requirements. Input data into and retrieve data from the appropriate data systems. Review monthly reports and identifies incomplete reports. Prepare various program and administrative reports, computer generated reports, charts, and status reports. as needed and requested by staff Specialist. Initiate correspondence, such as acknowledgment letters, requests for additional information, and transmittal memorandums, fill in references, dates, citations from manual, regulations, etc., which requires researching and extracting from files and records. Prepare materials in final form, assemble material (with necessary attachments), route material for appropriate distribution, etc. Conduct appropriate follow-up. Answer public inquiries on routine technical matters and provide general advice and assistance to mortgagors, mortgagees, and other client groups on routine technical matters involving HUD's housing programs. Serve as a control point for the Branch/Division's activities and responsibilities. Establish and maintain logs and controls to assure timely accomplishment of work and goals, such as management reviews, physical inspections, audit reviews, industry meetings, etc. Assist staff in follow-up as necessary. Actively consult with staff specialists to meet program objectives, provides quality customer service, and to ensure that reports, data input, and retrieval requests are accomplished in a timely manner. Maintain a close working relationship with staff in other areas of the office to assure proper coordination of projects and activities. When appropriate, provide training on basic; processing changes to clients and other staff. Experience:
For the GS-07, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes experience responding to and resolving customer service inquires and performing day-to-day administrative functions. Examples of such experience could include:
- Using office automation hardware/software for customer service & data input to produce documents; OR - Preparing reports; OR - Reviewing written materials for grammatical accuracy; OR - Collecting, analyzing and reviewing information for special projects; OR - Tracking correspondence.ANDProficiency Requirement:
In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate:
Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM). Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test. Time-in-Grade:

For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-06 level for 52 weeks.Time After Competitive Appointment:
Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
